Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have nurses 24/7?

No; if you are staying with us for respite care we will have a support service worker or nurse available 24/7. If you are staying with us for end of life care we will have a palliative care trained volunteer stay with you and your nursing care is done by the Mansfield Visiting Nursing Service.

Do I have to be dying to come into Rosehaven?

No, definitely not. We provide respite care to all people of all ages in our community.

Do I need to be registered with My Aged Care or NDIS to access Rosehaven services?

No.

How much does equipment cost to hire?

We provide equipment on a no charge, short term basis. Donations, however, are most welcome.

Do I have to deal with dying people to volunteer at Rosehaven?

We have many volunteering opportunities that do not involve direct guest care, from cooking and cleaning to garden maintenance, assisting with the shop etc. Please contact us to find a role that is appropriate for you.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, if it is well behaved and gets along with others.

How much does it cost to stay at Rosehaven?

We do not charge for our end of life services, however donations are always welcome. We rely on philanthropic support, bequests and donations to fund our operations.

Respite care charges are dependent on whether you pay for this yourself or whether you have an aged care or NDIS package.

Does a medical person have to refer me to your services?

No, we accept and encourage self-referrals.

Can my family stay with me at Rosehaven?

Absolutely; we look after not only you but your family and carers.
